Message 2: Grow Together, following Jesus in community.

Welcome back. In this message, we’re exploring the first responsibility of church membership: grow together. You’ve probably noticed that following Jesus isn’t something we’re meant to do on our own. The Christian life is personal, but it’s never private.

One of the most beautiful things about the early church was their commitment to one another. In Acts chapter 2, we see them gathering in the temple courts and in homes, learning, worshipping, eating, and praying together. Why? Because faith grows best in community. Hebrews 10 tells us not to give up meeting together, but to encourage one another. And all the more as we see the day approaching.

See, church isn’t an event we attend. It’s a community we’re part of. And showing up matters. It’s in the regular rhythm of worship and relationship that God shapes our hearts.

As members of the church, we’re invited to commit to gathering regularly, usually on the Sundays, but where possible to be part of a small group. Sunday services help us refocus, hear God’s word, worship together, and remember who we are in Christ.

But home groups or small groups give us space to be known, to ask questions, to pray for each other, to grow deeper in faith, friendship, and accountability. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to show up, be honest, and let God do the rest. Here’s the thing. When you show up, you’re not just growing yourself. You’re encouraging others, too. Your presence builds a faith for the person sitting next to you. Your smile, your prayer, your openness, it matters.

We grow best when we grow together. So, how’s your rhythm? Is Sunday worship a regular part of your week? Could a home group be your next step? In the next message, we’re looking at what it means to join in serving with the gifts God’s given you. But for now, take a moment to think, where are you growing and who are you growing with?
