Dazz recently spoke to us about the Holy Habit of living the Christian life with others. On the screen we saw the words “Being Team Mates For Jesus”. What he said is very important! We weren’t designed for solitary living – God saw that it was not good for Adam to be alone.
But as I thought about what Dazz said, I found myself thinking back to John 5:19, where John writes: “The Son can do nothing on his own, but whatever the Father does the Son does likewise”. Jesus’s disciples followed him very closely. But Jesus also knew that he wouldn’t physically be with his followers very long. To whom were they to look for guidance when he was gone? The answer is in John 16:13 – the Holy Spirit will lead us!
To have so close a relationship with Him that we do only what He asks us to do is not automatic! What I find very helpful is to remind myself that He wants to ‘build His kingdom here’ in partnership WITH US! That gives life meaning! We find the ‘energy of synergy’ – working together WITH Him in his divine project of renewing all of creation! Synergy is the multiplied result of the teamwork Dazz talked about.
